Toggle400 Paar vs 240 Result
As soon as the buzz of Lok Sabha elections started in the country, BJP started raising the slogan ‘Abki Baar Chaar Sau Paar’ loudly but when the result came out, they could get only 240 seats. What happened between the slogan of 400 Paar and the result of 240 that did not let BJP’s dream come true?
BJP’s overconfidence
BJP had already done a clean sweep in big states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Maharashtra, meaning there was no possibility of their seats increasing here, then on what basis were they giving the slogan of 400 Paar? What basis did they have to increase about 100 seats?
Media and their opposition parties were constantly raising these questions among the public. BJP’s slogan of crossing 400 was definitely their overconfidence which instead of encouraging the ground workers made them indifferent and the message went to the SC-ST class that if BJP comes to power, then their reservation can be removed or even the constitution can be changed. All this caused huge loss to BJP and they could not even get majority on their own, let alone crossing 400.
Ignoring local/popular leaders
The top leadership of BJP was so confident of victory and full of overconfidence that they ignored the popular (mass leaders) and local leaders in many states.

Ignoring Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan, Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh, suddenly removing Manohar Lal Khattar, reducing Raman Singh’s stature and making him the Speaker of the Assembly, removing Narendra Singh Tomar from central politics, cutting General V.K. Singh’s ticket, removing Nitin Gadkari from the parliamentary board, delay in giving him tickets and giving preference to airy leaders instead of popular leaders in many states sent a wrong message to the public and local workers became indifferent.
In the states where they treated local and popular leaders with disdain, the voting percentage fell and BJP had to face losses. Before Kejriwal gave air to this, there was already a discussion inside that the top leadership of BJP did not like Adityanath Yogi and after the massive victory of over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha, he could be removed from the post of Chief Minister. This rumour, true or false, had a great impact in Uttar Pradesh.
Resentment of different sections
When in power, BJP’s working style is so arrogant and oppressive that they do not want to handle any issue properly, rather instead of talking on the issue, they start a campaign to defame those who raise that issue. Calling the movement of youth and students urban-Naxal, calling farmers terrorist-Khalistanis, calling the movement of women wrestlers politically motivated,
not handling the Maratha reservation movement properly, silence on Manipur violence and not cutting Rupala’s ticket even after derogatory remarks on Kshatriya society are proof of the fact that BJP is not concerned about the resentment of any section. As long as a party is in power, it has the power to defame it, crush it if it wants, but when the time comes, that particular section settles the score for every injustice done to it.
Arbitrary attitude in ticket distribution
When tickets are given ignoring the local public aspirations, the local worker there not only becomes indifferent but also feels insulted. When the central leadership gets the illusion that their candidate will win the election only on the face of their top leadership, then the local workers also decide to show their status in their mind.
BJP raised the issue of fighting the election on the face of Modi everywhere and during this campaign, the local caste equations, the honor and respect of the local leaders were not taken into consideration, due to which BJP had to suffer the consequences by losing its seats.
Hateful and discriminatory statements
During the elections, instead of real issues related to the public, unnecessary hateful and discriminatory statements were made. An attempt was made to spoil the communal harmony in the country.
Ridiculous statements like snatching Mangalsutra, taking away buffaloes and distributing bank money were made. The public wanted to hear something on inflation, unemployment and expansion of basic facilities, but nothing special could be said on these issues.
Dictatorship and efforts to crush the opposition
The opposition was successful in convincing the people of the country that the ruling party of the country is behaving dictatorially with them. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah themselves had given the slogan of Congress-free India.
Scattered leaders of BJP often keep talking about opposition-free country. This slogan of 400 plus was in a way a manifestation of the intention of opposition-free democracy. In this campaign, the government also got a lot of support from the media. The media not only welcomed every effort to defame and crush the opposition wholeheartedly but also supported it wholeheartedly.
Membership of Parliament of leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Mahuva Mitra was cancelled while their only crime was that they asked tough questions to the government. Just before the elections, the bank accounts of Congress were seized and leaders like Hemant Soren-Kejriwal were put in jail. All this sent a message among the people that the government wants to make the country opposition-free.

good👍👍
