Birth-place of democracy

Athens is considered to be the birth-place of the concept of democracy and USA may be considered the laboratory of modern democracy as it is the first nation that freed itself from the grip of impearlism.

Dominance of religious authorities

Since the concept of state(nation) came into existence,the governance has been dominated by the religious athorities-church in the Christian world, Khalifa in the Muslim world and Rajguru(Purohit) in Indian context.The real rulers were religious person, kings/sultan and Badshah were only their faces. Although many rulers tried to restrict the excessive control of these athorities but the stamp of these athorities was evident.

Impearlism and Colonisation

After the decline of religious athorities,the most of the countries fell in the trap of impearlism and colonisation. It was the indirect influence of impearlism and colonisation that the world entered into the era of democracy in very short span of time.
Industrial revolution in Europe-specially in England, French revolution and the freedom of USA were the trigger point from where the seeds of democracy spread in the whole world.The countries that freed themselves from the trap of impearlism and colonisation,the most of them embraced the concept of democracy.
Since then,the idea of democracy is becoming more and more popular in the whole wolrd as it is based on public welfare and provides the opportunity to prosper every citizen of the nation.

The will of religion and the objectives of impearlism and colonisation were limited concept to fulfill the needs of limited people while the concept of democracy widen this concept of benefit.
In democracy,every citizen feel that he/she is equal partner in the process of governance. These people can’t blame others for their bad condition while they may feel pride on their achievements as they are fully responsible for their condition.There may not be any other better option than democracy. Democracy is the best model of governance at present.

लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था की शुरुआत

एथेंस को लोकतंत्र की अवधारणा का जन्म स्थान माना जाता है और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका को आधुनिक लोकतंत्र की प्रयोगशाला माना जा सकता है क्योंकि यह पहला राष्ट्र है जिसने खुद को साम्राज्यवाद की पकड़ से मुक्त किया है और लोकतंत्र की अवधारणा को अपनाया|

धार्मिक सत्ता का प्रभुत्व

जब से राज्य (राष्ट्र) की अवधारणा अस्तित्व में आई है, तब से शासन पर धार्मिक शक्तिओं का प्रभुत्व रहा है – ईसाई जगत में चर्च, मुस्लिम जगत में खलीफा और भारतीय संदर्भ में राजगुरु (पुरोहित)। वास्तविक सत्ता के अधिकारी थे,राजा /सुल्तान और बादशाह तो केवल उनके चेहरे थे। हालाँकि कई शासकों ने इन सत्ता के केंद्रों अत्यधिक नियंत्रण को नियंत्रित करने का प्रयास किया लेकिन इन शक्तियों की छाप स्पष्ट थी।

उपनिवेशवाद/साम्राज्यवाद

धार्मिक शक्तिओं के पतन के बाद, अधिकांश देश साम्राज्यवाद और उपनिवेशवाद के जाल में फंस गए। यह साम्राज्यवाद और उपनिवेशवाद का अप्रत्यक्ष प्रभाव था कि दुनिया बहुत कम समय में लोकतंत्र के युग में प्रवेश कर गयी।
यूरोप में औद्योगिक क्रांति-खासकर इंग्लैंड में, फ्रांसीसी क्रांति और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका की स्वतंत्रता वह ट्रिगर बिंदु थी जहां से लोकतंत्र के बीज पूरी दुनिया में फैल गए। जिन देशों ने खुद को साम्राज्यवाद और उपनिवेशवाद के जाल से मुक्त किया, उनमें से अधिकांश ने लोकतंत्र की अवधारणा को अपना लिया।
तब से, लोकतंत्र का विचार पूरी दुनिया में अधिक से अधिक लोकप्रिय हो रहा है क्योंकि यह लोक कल्याण पर आधारित है और राष्ट्र के प्रत्येक नागरिक को समृद्ध औऱ विकसित होने का अवसर प्रदान करता है।

लोकतंत्र औऱ जनकल्याण

धर्म की इच्छा और साम्राज्यवाद और उपनिवेशवाद के उद्देश्य सीमित अवधारणा थे और वे सीमित लोगों की जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए थे जबकि लोकतंत्र की अवधारणा का लाभ देश के प्रत्येक नागरिक को मिलता है और ये ही तथ्य लोकतंत्र की अवधारणा को व्यापक बनाता है।
लोकतंत्र में प्रत्येक नागरिक को लगता है कि वह शासन की प्रक्रिया में बराबर का भागीदार है। ये लोग अपनी बुरी स्थिति के लिए दूसरों को दोष नहीं दे सकते, जबकि वे अपनी उपलब्धियों पर गर्व महसूस कर सकते हैं क्योंकि वे अपनी स्थिति के लिए पूरी तरह से जिम्मेदार हैं। लोकतंत्र से बेहतर कोई अन्य विकल्प नहीं हो सकता है। लोकतंत्र वर्तमान में शासन का सर्वोत्तम मॉडल है।
