The success of any democratic system depends on its citizen.Without active participation of its citizen and proper awareness of its citizen one can’t think of the success of a democracy.

The people are supreme in democracy

The people are important as they are on the centre-stage of each and everything of democracy.Democracy is the system of the people, for the people and by the people.The ruling class comes out from the people and that ruling class is elected by the same people so its really crucial to have active and aware people for a successful democracy.

Proper education is must for successful democratic system

Its necessary that the people must be educated and responsible so that they can perform their duties well.It is the duty of an elected government that it must focuss on making people educated and responsible.In the same way, its the duty of each and every citizen of the country to ensure the election of sensible people that work in the interest of the country.

Some of the main duties of citizens

Here are some duties that must be the guiding principle for every citizen of a nation:-
1.To live life on democratic values,respect and promotion of these values.
2.To be aware of duties and rights.
3.To elect the best people irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
4.To work for the bettermennt of the society and nation.
5.To maintain peace and harmony in society.
6.To follow the rules and regulation of the land.
7.To work for improvement on personal front as well as community level.
These are the seven basic duties for all the citizen of a nation that would strenghthen the roots of democracy in any country.

लोकतंत्र और एक जिम्मेदार नागरिक के कर्तव्य

किसी भी लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था की सफलता उसके नागरिकों के कार्यों पर निर्भर करती है। अपने नागरिकों की सक्रिय भागीदारी और उनकी उचित जागरूकता के बिना कोई लोकतंत्र की सफलता के बारे में नहीं सोच सकता।

लोकतंत्र में जनता ही है संप्रभु

लोकतंत्र में लोग ही महत्वपूर्ण हैं क्योंकि वे ही लोकतंत्र की मुख्य धुरी हैं| लोकतंत्र लोगों की, लोगों के लिए और लोगों द्वारा की गई व्यवस्था है। शासक वर्ग लोगों के बीच से आता है और शासक वर्ग को उन्हीं लोगों द्वारा चुना जाता है, इसलिए इसके लिए सक्रिय और जागरूक लोगों का होना निश्चित तौर पर महत्वपूर्ण है।

अच्छे लोकतंत्र की बुनियादी जरूरत है शिक्षा

यह आवश्यक है कि लोग शिक्षित और जिम्मेदार हों ताकि वे अपने कर्तव्यों को अच्छी तरह से निभा सकें। एक निर्वाचित सरकार का यह कर्तव्य है कि वह लोगों को शिक्षित और जिम्मेदार बनाने पर ध्यान दे। उसी तरह, यह प्रत्येक नागरिक का कर्तव्य है की वे देश के हित में काम करने वाले समझदार लोगों का चुनाव सुनिश्चित करें|
नागरिकों के कुछ खास कर्तव्य
यहां कुछ कर्तव्य हैं जो किसी राष्ट्र के प्रत्येक नागरिक के लिए मार्गदर्शक सिद्धांत होने चाहिए: –
1. लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों पर जीवन जीना, इन मूल्यों का सम्मान और प्रचार-प्रसार करना।
2. कर्तव्यों एवं अधिकारों के प्रति जागरूक रहना।
3. जाति, पंथ या धर्म से परे सर्वश्रेष्ठ लोगों का चुनाव करना।
4. समाज और राष्ट्र की भलाई के लिए काम करना।
5. समाज में शांति एवं सद्भाव बनाये रखना।
6. देश के नियम-कानून-कायदों का पालन करना।
7. व्यक्तिगत स्तर के साथ-साथ सामुदायिक स्तर पर भी सुधार के लिए काम करना।
किसी राष्ट्र के सभी नागरिकों के लिए ये सात बुनियादी कर्तव्य हैं जो किसी भी देश में लोकतंत्र की जड़ों को मजबूत करेंगे।
